这名男子从8月3日就开始在网吧玩一种在线的枪战游戏。在接下来的3天里，他除了上厕所和小睡了几次外，一直坐在电脑前疯狂地沉迷在游戏世界里。由于没有按时回家，这名男子的同事受他母亲之托来网吧里找他，但他说要等游戏结束后才回家。没想到，几分钟后，还没等游戏结束，这名男子就命丧黄泉了。据同事介绍，为了能有更多的时间玩游戏，这名男子刚刚辞去了工作。
大丘警方说：“死者的死因是由于精疲力尽而导致的心力衰竭。”
